How secure is Payforit?

Very. All you give is your mobile phone number, and you are then sent a pincode which is free to receive. You enter this pin back into the screen to verify your transaction and the purchase is complete

What happens to my mobile number?

Your mobile number is safe and will not be passed on to anyone else. You may be asked if you'd like to recieve marketing from the retailer you are purchasing from.

Can I use a pay-as-you-go mobile?

Yes. Providing you have sufficient credit you can use a pay-as-you-go mobile phone. Remember that the credit will be deducted immediately.

When is the money deducted from my bill?

If you are on a prepay contract, the transaction will be added to your bill which will then be deducted from your bank account by your network on the ususal date.

How can I claim a refund?

ImpulsePay does not issue refunds, you will need to contact the retailer in order to claim a refund. Due to the nature of mobile payments, it's not possible to add credit back onto your handset.

Which networks can I use Payforit on?

All UK networks support the service: T-mobile, Orange, O2, Three and Vodafone. All virtual operators like Tesco Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Lebara are supported too.

Does the service work outside the UK?

Currently this service only works with UK network operators. We're working to enable other countries around the world, and hope to offer more territories soon.

Is it easy to get started?

Incredibly easy! Creating your account takes about a minute. After that it's just a case of copying a line of code onto your website and you're done. Of course if you're stuck, give us a call!

Do you work with larger organisations?

Yes. We can work with larger organisations and businesses to bring our services to their customers. Please call us if you'd like to discuss how we can help you.

Can I run a subscription service?

Yes, please contact us to setup a subscription service. The subscription process is controlled by Payforit, meaning you can be sure all customers subscriptions are handled properly.

What if a consumer doesn't pay their bill?

The network operators allocated money from their fees to cover bad debts. Therefore, every successfully billed transaction we tell you about, you get paid for.

How do you protect my revenue?

The mechanics of our payout service is set up as a standalone company specifically for making your payment, covering you if anything happened to us.

Finance

When will I get paid?

Payouts are generally made on the 15th day of the second following month. Payments take around 3 working days to reach your account.

Can you give me a payment example?

Sure. For January transactions Payouts would reach you on, or just after, the 15th of March. This roughly equates to a 45 day payout.

Don't payouts vary across different networks?

Each network operator has different charges per transaction. We aggragate these charges to give you a simple 75% payout accross all networks.

Do I need to do anything to get paid?

You don't need to do anything. Before your first payment we'll check your bank & VAT status. This simple procedure means that you'll automatically get paid every month.

What happens with the VAT?

If you're VAT registered, we can pass the additional VAT amount through to you. To enable this, please enter your VAT number in your control panel, we'll then check this before making payment.

Technical

Do I have to use your script?

No. We provide an easy to use Javascript widget to get up and running quickly, but you can use the raw HTML coding instead, or improvise however you like.

Do payment details travel over the internet?

No. Payforit bills consumers phone bills directly. This means sensitive information never leaves the security of the mobile operators billing systems. Payforit is inherently secure, as it requires only a mobile number.

Can the payment pages be branded?

No. Payment pages are hardcoded by each network operator to address their specific customer care and transparency concerns. However, this may change in future.

How much does the 'PIN code' message cost?

This is a standard rate message sent to authorise a purchase. If you elect to pay this, the consumer has no additional charges to pay. The cost is 3.2p per message and is deductable from payouts.

How reliable is your payment infrastructure?

We combine the best technology that each mobile aggregator has to offer, and can switch instantly. Our primary infrastructure provider processes several hundred million pounds per year through mobile payments.

Is their a limit to the number of transactions?

No. Our service can handle 10,000s of transactions a second. If you think you need more than this talk to usand we can increase the throughput for your service.

Can consumers use Payforit whilst abroad?

Payforit is limited to UK numbers only. But this doesn't mean that UK numbers abroad can't make a payment. If the number is a mobile (07x) and registered to a UK network, then it can be used to make a payment.

Do all networks support 1-click billing?

Yes. Consumers on every UK network can also use Payforit's 1-click billing methodon their handset, providing they are browsing over a mobile network data connection (not wi-f)

What if I want to sell globally?

Payforit can be offered alongside other mobile payment options from other countries. One way is to use sites like paymentwall.com, which offers country specific payment methods to consumers.

I'm not a UK business, can I use Payforit?

Yes. You can still offer mobile payments to your UK customers if your business is based abroad, we'll pay you as normal using the current exchange rate minus a £25 international transfer fee.

How long have you been around?

ImpulsePay was launched by Interlinked Media in July 2009. Interlinked Media was established in July 2002 and opened another office in the USA in August 2006.

Are you regulated?

Currently, no. As we are a service provider we do not need to be regulated by PhonePayPlus. However, we are registered with the ICO for the data protection act.

Where do you operate?

ImpulsePay only works with the UK carriers at present. We are, however, looking at internationalisation, and do hope to offer ImpulsePay in other territories at some point.

Who provides your operator connections?

We combine the best technologies from multiple aggregators. Our primary infrastructure provider is mBlox, who process several hundred million pounds of mobile payments per year.

Do you do custom projects?

We don't offer specific development services, but our aim is to get organisations and businesses of all sizes using Payforit, so do talk to us and we'll see how we can help you.
